Praised for his "spectacular virtuosity" by Strad
magazine, violinist David
Chan first gained international
recognition when, at the age of seventeen, he won a top prize at the

bronze medal and the prestigious Josef Gingold prize at the Indianapolis
International Violin Competition, the Indianapolis News commented
on his "lustrous tone," adding that "[he has] the kind
of authority that usually comes with maturity."
Mr. Chan made his Mew York debut at Lincoln Center's Avery Fischer Hall
in 1995, performing Paganini's Concerto No. 2 under conductor Hugh Wolff.
His orchestral performances include appearances with the Moscow State
Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Aspen Chamber Symphony, San Diego
Symphony and the Indianapolis Symphony. He recently made his Asian debut
with the Taiwan National Symphony in Taipei. He has recorded two Paganini
